Frances is a communications specialist with more than 26 years of experience in broadcast and print journalism, as well as public relations. In addition to hands-on experience of working in the media, she has extensive experience in communications strategy and management, internal and external communication campaigns, employee engagement and crisis communications. Frances has worked for major organisations, including the UK’s BBC, Dubai Television & Radio, Emirates Airline & Group, Dubai Airports, F&E Aerospace (Dubai Airshow), American University of Sharjah and Dubai Tourism.
Sarah is a dynamic communicator with over 15 years’ experience in media, finance and business. Her international experience in banking, and as one of CNBC’s key anchors, makes her at ease dealing with leaders and experts from industry, government and academia. A skilled listener and coach, Sarah enjoys working with clients to help them define and achieve their objectives. Her coaching experience includes training blue-chip executives in public speaking and techniques for challenging television interviews. Her international career has given her an understanding of the cultural and working practices in the Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and South America.
Jennifer Blandos Hardie
Jennifer Hardie is Pinnacle’s CEO and co-founder. She has 20 years’ communications and public relations experience advising board-level executives, government ministers and officials on how to manage their organisation’s reputation. Jennifer started her career specialising in trade disputes with the European Union, including a number of years working on the long-running bananas dispute. She then moved to Stockholm where she ran the corporate and B2B team for Edelman, followed by a year in Belgrade where she advised government ministries on restructuring their communications departments. Jennifer is a British - Canadian citizen, who has visited more than 60 countries and in her professional life has lived in Montreal, Brussels, Stockholm, Belgrade, London and Dubai.
Will is an experienced international journalist and experimental psychologist turned communications consultant. Having studied psychology at Oxford and journalism in the US, he spent seven years with Reuters news agency as an international correspondent. Will joined Pinnacle in London in 2003 and transferred to Pinnacle Dubai in 2008, specialising in communication strategy consultiong and top-level media coaching. He has executed large projects to create communication strategies and systems for national governments and major corporates. He is among the world’s leading media trainers, having coached hundreds of cabinet ministers, CEOs and royalty from more than 50 countries.
Rebecca is a PR expert with more than 20 years’ experience in a career spanning the communications field. Rebecca started her career in financial PR consultancy and then moved in-house working for leading international financial institutions such as James Capel, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Standard & Poor’s. Having managed communications teams globally, Rebecca expanded her remit to include internal and strategic communications, advising senior management on crisis and issues PR, brand management and strategic communications.
Katral-Nada is a strategic communication professional with more than 10 years’ experience. She has extensive knowledge of effective online marketing tactics, social media, analytics, information architecture, usability design and testing. She has planned and managed large-scale web implementations and revitalised user experiences for web products and services. In an agency setting, Katral-Nada has played a leading role in projects for clients such including MSN, Sharp and CMC Microsystems. Katral-Nada holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialisation in International Business and Management Information Systems from the University of Ottawa, Canada. She is a member of the Information Architecture Institute.
Desley is a senior broadcast journalist specialising in same-day company, economic, business and financial markets analysis and news packaging. She has more than 10 years’ experience in the television and broadcasting industry and another five within the financial services sector, and is an experienced interviewer of CEOs, analysts, economists and politicians. Based in Dubai, Desley has been a presenter, reporter and producer for Middle East Business Report on BBC World News and Business Breakfast on Dubai Eye 103.8. Previously she was a business reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Sky News Australia. Desley has a background in finance at Goldman Sachs JBWere and ABN Amro.
Shahla is a senior communication and PR consultant with more than 15 years of in-house and agency experience. She has a special interest in corporate communication, media relations, strategy and cultural communication. Shahla led the internal and external communication functions for retail and development group Majid Al Futtaim Holding. On the agency side, she successfully managed accounts for high-profile projects for the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, Prime Minster and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Shahla has also coordinated top regional media events under the Dubai Press Club and Dubai Media Office.
Lubna Takruri has more than 15 years of professional experience as a print and television journalist across the United States and Middle East and speaks fluent Arabic. She has worked as a reporter for the Associated Press and a producer for Al-Arabiya TV, both in Washington, DC, where she interviewed politicians and international experts. In 2008 she moved to the West Bank to work with many international news outlets covering the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, before taking a job in Bahrain with international business channel CNBC. At CNBC, Lubna produced a program called Gateway to the Middle East, traveling all over the region to create reports on business trends and investment opportunities. Lubna has a certification to be a media trainer from the FOJO Media Development Institute in Sweden, and has trained high-level business people and government officials all over the region since 2011. She has a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
Paul is a senior communication and events professional with almost 20 years Middle East experience in all phases of corporate, event, brand and government communications. Paul has spent time in senior roles both in-house and agency side with regional and global agencies. He has extensive experience in developing and delivering PR strategies, internal and external communication programmes, media relations, crisis communication and event management for organisations like twofour54, General Motors, Pepsi, Unilever, Etisalat, National Bank of Dubai and Majid Al Futtaim. He is a former member of board for the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA).
Nick is a senior media consultant with more than 30 years’ experience as an international broadcast journalist. He was trained by the BBC and worked with ITN in London before taking charge of newsgathering for the launch of Al Jazeera in English. Later he oversaw the channel’s global bureaux, including Kabul. He now trains senior executives for TV interviews and advises TV companies on launching new shows and restructuring newsrooms
